**adopted**SWEEP – little old lady needs quiet retirement home

Sweep is a 10+ year old Shih Tzu cross (possibly Yorkie). She came to our rescue from the stray pound where she was found in a horrific state – she was emaciated, her fur was filthy and full of mats and fleas and she was very confused. Luckily she is now safe and in a foster home – she looks (and smells!) much better after a good groom and she is learning what home comforts are all about. We don’t know what life Sweep has had before finding her way to us, but she clearly hasn’t had much attention or love. She has a very placid nature and wouldn’t hurt a fly, but she just doesn’t understand what cuddles and being fussed is all about and keeps herself to herself. She is very quiet, fine to be left on her own for a few hours and just snoozes in her bed. Sweep is fine around all dogs and cats, she doesn’t interact with them at all bless her. She will need a very understanding home as she struggles with her housetraining – she will toilet in the garden but needs to be put outside very regularly otherwise she will have accidents inside (and overnight). She does still enjoy short walks but can’t be let off the lead as she is deaf and can’t hear to be called back! She also suffers with dry eye in one of her eyes so needs eye drops a few times a day (this is quite inexpensive and she is fine having the drops in). She will soon be having a full dental as her teeth are rotten so she will have very few teeth left and will need to be fed soft food for the rest of her life.
